General packet radio system(GPRS) is being used widely now a days. A huge decrease in the cost of GPRS services made data services easy for the customer who can't afford highly paid broadband.
Internet services are used widely now a days and it become a internal part of life.lots of services are provided on internet as email, social networking sites, making friends now becomes so easy.so use of internet is increasing day by day.
Earlier the number of internet users are very less but now when everyone getting this service on cheapest price ,number of internet users increasing in tremendous way...its all due to GPRS.
Using broadband or 3G data cards are still very expensive. but on the cost of slow speed you could have internet facility at nominal price.
I agree we have to compromise with speed ,it might be not suitable for professionals but for the guys enjoying surfing ,its a very good option. as far as speed is concerned surfing a website is not tedious but when you download a software or other application, we having problem. download speed is around 2 KBPS-35 KBPS depending on the networks.
We mostly prefer AIRTEL, TATA DOCOMO, AIRCEL, IDEA and RELIANCE for GPRS services.
Tariffs plans and browsing speed are different for all networks.
Where we have to pay more than 600 RS. for broadband or data card. GPRS is available in less than 100 RS. Lets take a look to tariffs plan of different mobile network
AIRTEL:
2GB data : 98 RS/month
normal download speed: 4kbps-25kbps
TATA DOCOMO:
2GB : 48 RS/month
normal download speed: 8kbps-32kbps
AIRCEL:
Unlimited: 98 RS/month
IDEA:
72MB-84MB/per day: 95 RS/month
Plan changes state wise
normal download speed: 8kbps-32kbps
So GPRS is the only way to connect to the world at nominal price
