SWITCH SERVICE PROVIDER WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR MOBILE NUMBER

Finally long awaited mobile number portability service launched in India. MNP is a service which enable you to change your service provider without changing your favorite mobile number.
 

With MNP you can switch to different technology as well, means if you are using GSM technology then you can switch to CDMA and vice versa, and your mobile number will remain same.

MNP service will cost you Rs 19, you have to pay this amount to your new service provider.

It will take maximum 7 days (15 days in J&K, north east ) to port your number

PROCEDURE TO USE MNP:

To switch your number to different service provider, send the following text message
PORT <space>your mobile number to 1900

you will receive an eight digit alphanumeric code from you present service provider.this is the unique porting code

Now you have to approach to your new service provider  ,with your unique porting code.you can approach to their relationship center or store with your address & ID Proof/photograph

operator will take your request and you will receive text from new provider, mentioning when your phone will go in no service period,in this time period you will not be able to use services.

After this all, your number will be ready with new service providers

Eligibility to use MNP is- A subscriber must be with provider for at least 3 months.
