Introduction.
Sony Xperia series phones have made a mark as
reliable and sturdy devices. Sony XperiaMiro is the latest offering from this
famous brand, and it is a phone that promises to deliver a lot going by the
features it offers. The device runs on the trusted android version 4 also
called the ice cream sandwich OS. A
powerful 800 MHz processor is an excellent back up of the operating system, and
the 512MB Ram promises a flawless functioning of the numerous applications that
can be performed on the device.
Hardware.
The
hand set has distinctive visual features such as the sloping metallic plate
under the row of capacitive keys on the front. Moreover, the phone comes in a
wide range of color combinations, including a snowy- white version. Despite being
made of a boring plastic, the petite sizedXperia, feels light and well built
making it possible for one to operate with a single thumb. Accidental presses
are minimized since the three capacitive buttons under the screen are well
spaced.
However,the
2-button volume rocker located on the right side and the lock key positioned on
top are somehow tiny, and this proves to be a discomfort.
The
phone boasts a nice and a handy feature in the name of a discreet RGB LED right
next to the earpiece. It glows in a respective color each time you have a
missed call, a face book message or simply when operating under low battery.
Screen.
It
has a 3.5-inch displayTFT capacitive touch screen which provides a resolution
of 320 by 480 pixels. However, graphics do not look good on it as it has a
165ppi. The screens color presentation and viewing angles are okay but, unfortunately,
it does not have a light sensor. This means that one has to boost the
brightness manually.
The
phone comes with another excellent feature called the power saver which
switches off a number of features when enabled. It also reduces the screen’s
brightness to preserve more energy.
The
phone uses the Times cape UI which is an interface that focuses heavily on the
social networking while making the interaction that is between the user and the
smart phone simple and easy.Standard connectivity features such as GPS,
Bluetooth, WI-Fi and a 3G of upto 7.2 mbps are supported by the XperiaMiro. It
also has a micro USB port where one can connect the device to a computer.
Camera.
The
phone also comes with a 5 megapixel camera that also acts as a video recorder.
The camera comes with additional features like touch capture, Geo tagging, auto
focus, and video stabilizer which all contribute to enhance the usability of
the device. A secondary camera of 0.3 megapixels allows users to conduct video
calling easily.
Conclusion.
With
a better screen and a lower price tag, the device will surely carve a niche in
the market, a fact supported by its impressive battery life and good media
options. This makes the phone a worthy buy.
